Catnip is an herb loved by cats and kittens.
Catnip is the popular name for a plant called Napeta Cataria. Often called cat mint, this herb of Asiatic origin grows up to three feet and is found throughout North America. Catnip is a perennial herb with heart-shaped, gray-green to green leaves with scalloped edges.
